Our family was honored in Spain during a formal commemorative ceremony dedicated to the historical legacy of Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba, El Gran Capitán, one of the most consequential figures in Spanish history.
As part of this commemoration, my brother, Sergio Fernández de Córdova, represented our family and received the corresponding medals and certificates on behalf of the Fernández de Córdova lineage. These distinctions were conferred as a symbolic recognition of historical continuity, cultural heritage, and the longstanding tradition of service associated with families connected to this legacy.
During the same ceremony, Francisco de Borbón was likewise invested and received the same distinctions, representing his family within the broader historical and institutional framework of the commemoration.
The ceremony took place in Antequera, in the context of the 510th anniversary of El Gran Capitán. The recognition was not personal in nature, but institutional and historical, acknowledging stewardship, responsibility, and the preservation of history across generations.
